All this walking comes at a price

They just might not make it!

We try to travel pretty light, our rule is if you pack it you carry it.

For this trip, of neary 5 weeks I brought two pairs of shoes. One of them being this pair of very expensive Mephisto sandals. Why these? Because they have great arch support and are good for walking.

And boy oh boy have we been walking. It has sure taken its toll on these shoes. The leather is rubbing down on the heels, and it is cracking in the footbed. All this walking is coming at a price, the price of these expensive sandals.

  1. Hie yourself to El Corte Ingles when you return to Madrid. Preferably the one at Nuevos Ministerios or on Serrano. I picked up Mephistos there in May for far less than I would've paid for them in this hemisphere, and Spain refunds the sales tax to foreigners.

I understand…traveling light can be a bitch, but can also so liberting! Enjoyed the Pitaya, but there is only one rather forlorn looking fig…think it needs planting in la tierra. Limons, si…con tequilla!!!!
