Let me try to clarify the “Artist Studio Tour” vernacular.
The 2nd comment to Eric's perplexion is CORRECT. Tour participants visit MANY studios!
The phrase “Artists' Studio Tours” would be grammatically incorrect, as all the artists don't have the same studio. “Artists' Studios Tour” (the correct usage) is just TOO HARD to say!
SO, the accepted term (check ALL the art studio tours on the Internet) has become “Artist Studio Tour”. This, I'm sure, is more than anybody ever wanted to know about English grammar!
I'm sure the “Artist Studio Tour” will be vastly more interesting!

  2. Hi Eric, There are a number of Artists involved, actually more than can probably be visited, so the plan, as I know it, is to provide the artist names, show a number of their pieces of work, and provide the visitors with a map so that you select which studios and in what order you wish to visit.
Hope that helps, thanks for your interest!

    Hi Debi,
I saw a sign about this at MEL. The wording had me perplexed. I wondered if it was a visit to one studio, since the sign says *artist studio tour* rather than artists studio tours. Your explantation above has helped me unpack the meaning. ~eric.
