without a leg to stand on…..

In my previous post I mentioned a Spay and Neuter clinic in Uman.  Here is another story from that clinic.

We see lots of things at Spay n Neuter Clinics, Some so touching it will bring tears to your eyes, or a smile to your eyes

scenes and expressions of love and devotion.

And then there are the scenes of neglect –

graphic fotos!

In what world does someone live that they allow this to happen

and then think they can bring the dog for neutering and no one will say or do anything.

This poor dog could not put any weight on the foot, and was so obviously in great pain!

What can anyone say or do to justify this?

This dog was not returned to his ‘owner’ and is in foster care undergoing treatment to try to save the leg.

He will then look for a new home.

here’s the chain, it was completely embedded in the skin,

it had been there a long time!

  1. I hate to see any animal in pain like that wish I lived closer to you and I could take a few animals/// it is a shame how mean people are towards animals they do not realize they have feelings and hurt to I hate to see an animal hurt like that maybe the laws should get changed quickly . take care of your self and all the poor animals thet need eit.

Talking about neutering………!!!!! whoever was responsible for this kind of pain an agony, should come and see me in my “fun” clinic. I will put all of them on chairs, do the neutering first, and then
give the chairs a kick!!. Your laws are not good enough yet!

This is a terrible story of cruelty but it looks like it is going to have a happy ending. At least all signs are pointing that way and we are hopeful. Roco is his name and he very smart. The muscles have atrophied in the hip and leg. The foot and heel are swollen several times the normal size but they do have feeling. He is going to need lots of physio to improve circulation and then he can begin to work the hip to regain muscle mass. Thank goodness for the Uman Clinic so that Roco could be rescued.

How sad it is to see this kind of animal abuse. I understand that they have initiated some new laws about animal cruelty recently…..

    • indeed, there are new laws – I’m not sure any precedents have yet been established. I know there are several denuncias in play here in Merida, time will tell.
