Great garden ideas

Recently, while traveling, and visiting friends Pam and Gary who have recently retired and are now living fulltime in their vacation home on the Outer Banks of North Carolina we visited the arboretum where Gary volunteers time.

Gary is becoming a Master Gardener. I think he was a Master Gardener before, but then what do I know?

This is Gary, in the blue, along with Tom, and Gary’s lovely wife Pam. These guys are probably ‘our’ oldest, or longest friends? Which would be correct? We’ve known them since 1972 I believe. They stood with us when we got married.

Check out this awesome chair sculpture, and it was actually a functioning chair, AND you were allowed to sit on it.

This was awesome, it is ground glass that has been rolled to remove the sharp edges, it’s still like walking on gravel, but what an incredible recycle, or would that be repurpose use of glass. And how beautiful it was a as a garden path.

And check out these awesome stepping stones, I know we could get these done here easey peasey.

I love visiting arboretums and botanic gardens when we travel. The arboretum at the Outer Banks is well worth a visit.

We also visited The Elizabethan Gardens while there, but that’s another post
