hotel review – las casa encantada, patzcuaro, michoacan

We recently spent 2 nights visiting Patzcuaro, and stayed at Hotel Casa Encantada.

Very cute place, quite close to main square. a variety of room options available. Breakfast included daily. Coffee service starts at 7am I think, or maybe 7:30, breakfast service starts about 8:30.

We chose the Sirena room, one queen bed, overlooking the rear courtyard. Has a small kitchenette area, sink, and microwave, but no refri, although there was a small refri at the bottom of the stairs. Garrafon of purified water in the room.

There was a trunk at the foot of the bed which we used for our suitcase. Room around the bed was a little tight. Small closet with several hangers, and some shelves which was greatly appreciated. We had a corner room do windows on 2 sides, plus our own little romeo and juliet balcony.

There were TONS of covers for the bed, which we did not need. Some of the guests kept their windows open, but that gives no privacy and allows everyone to see all yer business. I used the fluffiest comforter tripled to sleep on as the bed is very firm.

Water pressure is pretty good, but temperature fluctuates constantly whilst showering. Large containers of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion available for your use.

Really nice common spaces, and many to choose from depending on what you are looking for.

Dining room is nice, breakfast was very good, totally vegetarian, but they confused me when they added in meat looking and tasting stuff; Soy chorizo, etc.

So overall a very nice stay, our room was 71usd per night.

About Debi in Merida

I moved from Colorado Springs, Colorado USA to Merida, Yucatan, MX in January 2006. I love to read, garden, travel, and hang out with friends. Then in 2016 I moved to Richmond, Virginia, USA. Culture shock continues.

Wow Patzcuaro has really gone upscale since I was there in 1980 and 89. You two have really had a great trip.
