The Galactic Butterfly, aka Hunab Ku

I was very recently introduced to the idea of the ‘galactic butterfly’.  It is a beautiful symbol.  And it matters not what your religious or spiritual leanings are, the message is beautiful.

2000px-Maya_calendar_(Hunab-Ku).svgThis symbol, the Galactic Butterfly is said to represent all consciousness that has ever existed in this galaxy. So regardless of your preference for creationism, or evolution, you are covered.

This refers to all of our physical ancestors –
human, animal, reptile, fish, shellfish, and plants as well
as the consciousness which organized all of the raw material from a
whirling disk into stars, planets, and solar systems.

Butterflies are seen to represent or symbolize our ancestors returning for a visit to physicality.

Wearing one of these symbols is very powerful as it broadcasts that you are reaching/searching to actively join in with the consciousness of our galaxy.

hunab-ku3according to one site – Hunab Ku was, to the Mayans, the supreme God and ultimate Creator and was located in the center of the Milky Way galaxy. It/he represented the gateway to other galaxies beyond our Sun as well as all of the consciousness that has ever existed in this, our own galaxy. Hunab Ku, according to the Mayans, is also the consciousness which organized all matter from a whirling disk – into stars, planets and solar systems. Hunab Ku is the Mother Womb which is constantly giving birth to new stars and it gave birth to our own Sun and planet Earth as well as the other planets found in our solar system. They also believed that the ultimate Creator directs everything that happens in our galaxy from its center through the emanation of periodic energy bursts of consciousness.

from another site – The Hunab Ku symbol is perhaps one of the most ubiquitous visual symbols of the Mayan Calendar culture. It means “the one god” in Yucatec Maya,. The image was also used by the Aztecs as a ritual cloak or mantle design.

And from another site – from which I had to translate because it is spanish – Hunab Ku is the most important god of the Maya pantheon. It dualities combined opposing elements such as male and female so you have the ability to create. Hunab Ku is thought to have given birth to the universe. For the Mayans it is Hunab Ku from whom all was created, the heavens, the earth, plants, animals, and finally the maya themselves. Hunab Ku is everything and nothing at the same time. He was also the father of all gods.

Inside the ancient cosmogony, Hunab Ku created the world three times, the third was when he gave life to the Maya themselves. Some authors assert that his name Hunab Ku means “only giver”.

I like this sight for much of its research into Hunab Ku –  http://www.soulsofdistortion.nl/Galactic%20Butterfly.html

Wow great to see like minded people. I totally agree and call it main creator parent. Creative Creator. Main parent with a special ability to create destroy heal and has cures. Created Everyone and everything personally and born babies to mums dads and carers. It is a single parent knows how hard to be single parent so let everyone have mums and dads and carers. Marriage divorce single parents evolved. Main creator parent had no-one to discuss adult issues with at beginning. Trial and error. Not rehearsal. Is main Parent with special ability to create Everyone and everything personally and subtly. Born created is a difference. Everyone is loved. Main creator parent is the eldest. Has had one big bad day.

Yes this is a lovely graphic on Dichotomy -light and dark, but what about dusk, male and female, but what about Intersex, straight and gay, but what about bisexual, pansexual, asexual… I don’t like the constraint of dualism. What do you think? Yes, No, — Maybe?

  4. This beautiful geometric symbol also represents the eternal balance of masculine and feminine energies, darkness with light. It might be thought of as the Mayan yin-yang symbol. I have a lovely pendant carved in the Galactic Butterfly, made of wood. It brings balance.
